Building an app: process, timeline and what drives the price
The two most common questions before commissioning an app are "How long will it take?" and "How much will it cost?". The answer depends on scope, but knowing which items drive cost lets you compare quotes properly and plan your budget.
Five things that drive the price
1) The number of screens and how custom the design is. 2) User roles: a customer app only, or a business and admin side too? 3) Integrations: payments, maps, notifications, calendar, AI. 4) An admin panel and reporting. 5) Languages and store launch scope.
Typical timelines
A simple, single-role first version (MVP) usually reaches the stores in 8–12 weeks. Marketplace-style apps with customer and business sides, payments and an admin panel can take 12–20 weeks. After the discovery call we share a weekly plan.
iOS, Android or both?
In Turkey most users are on Android while a large share of paying users are on iOS. Because we build both from one Flutter codebase, launching on both costs far less than writing two separate apps.
Questions to ask when you get a quote
Who will own the source code? Under whose store account will the app be published? How will bug fixes and OS updates work after launch? How often will you get test builds? If the answers are not in writing, quotes are not comparable.
Ways to lower the cost
Ship only the core of your business in the first version and add the rest based on user feedback. Use proven payment and subscription services (iyzico, RevenueCat). Build the admin panel on the same database as the app.
